Standard battle dress includes short-range comms and is designed to stop small arms fire, shrapnel, and moderate impacts. It's the baseline for any combat operation — not as advanced as powered armor, but far more practical for extended operations. The armor is modular, allowing for repairs and customization. Every marine knows how to maintain their battle dress. It's not glamorous, but it works.
